3 THINGS

Image

I like to ponder life, all its twists and turns. One of the biggest effects on how one feels on a continuum is the ideas we are given about life. But first what is life? Without bias, look at what it really is, at the root. Life is simple a balance, a play of elements and energy corresponding coordinating and cooperating in a cyclical dance. No one knows how this all really works, when anything began or when it will end, or why.

Slip 1

SEPEARATION.

It appears that we have a body. And it appears in the world. Have you ever felt like you apppeared in a world. When looked at logically all you’ve ever known about a world is from your senses. Senses detect outside stimulus but where does that appear? Within you. The world has always appeared within you. This idea that you are separate looks obvious on the surface. Outside your skin is air and surfaces, you have your thoughts etc. Yet where do you begin and the universe end? If your skin did not have the air, light and pressure on it exchanging molecules the body would perish. What about the bacteria in you that outnumber human cells yet keep you alive? Where does the universe begin and you end. You can’t find it because you are it.

Slip 2

A THING

With the ideas of separation comes the idea that you are a thing. Stamped with labels such as good and bad. Thoughts come and go but notice how thoughts themselves try to take credit for your life, or tell you how you measure up. Notice the continuous flow of thought and sensations. Depending on how life will test you will help you see that you are a process, not a thing. Do you feel like some solid object having experiences in a world? Every cell in your body has been replaced multiple times, your opinions have changed. Everything flows as it will and must without a hint of caring what you think about it. Just like a river. One could stand on the Mississippi River and say that’s the Mississippi, yet turn your back on it for a few minutes and a whole new section, river, appears. Same with all else, constantly moving, a process.

Slip 3

Flawed

In our modern culture it is often and still perpetuates that you are not ok as you are. You must strive to perfect some look, attitude, appearance, skill, aptitude or outside objective. Constantly judging ourselves to measure up or surpass the “other”. This happens in many religions where you are fallen, flawed, full of impurities at the start, as well as separate from the divine. Same as the new age thought, your not pure or enlightened enough, and you have to do all the instruction, to be ok.

But here is the truth, you are already whole, already complete. Nothing is missing. Any sense of inadequacy is a lie, a fiction picked up by our reflective minds and turned against oneself to live up to some imaginative idea of perfection. See, perfection is already here. In the way the stars are strewn across to curtain of night. I’m not saying not to want to be healthy or happy and pretend there are no problems. That’s another pipe dream. I’m talking about the base of you. Are you the voice that is constantly telling you to pull yourself up, do better etc? When that voice calms down what is there. Just your simple being, your simple presence. Resting in this idea of your base self you’ll still see the apparent separation and flaws as false ideas. Nothing can fill the existential hole because there is no hole, existence

IS

WHOLE.
