Lean In
So, the world seems a bit mad… Tent cities, crazy weather, conspiracies, comets, resets and more! Yet, haven’t we heard before of end times, Armageddon yada yada yada? And haven’t we all had our own personal existential crises on and off at times? Aren’t we promised our own personal end time as a body, all of which, fall? How to make sense of any of human behavior?
In a yogis view we see that there is something far more intelligent under the surface than our own plans. You see, there is a rhythm here that runs through everything: Expansion and contraction. Just like breathing, when one inhales there is tension and expansion, and when one exhales there is a relaxation and contraction.
This world has been expanding in its industrial and technological inhale of late and many are worried where it’s going to end up. No worries though, because nature has already begun its exhale as evidenced by things like 73% of the birds disappearing the last six decades.
What if, instead of bracing yourself against the apparent chaos, you took a different route. Maybe you could find and lean into the rhythm of your universe, day, or moment. How does one do this? By stopping and slowing down. Bringing one’s attention to the rhythm and pulse of the body. Quiet down and act as if everything will work out for you. And hasn't it? Besides what our mind thinks about where we should be and what shouldn’t have been, hasn't your breath been there for you this whole time? The food must have come at regular intervals as well or you wouldn’t be reading this. And are there any errors? Or just invitations, like this one, to see things differently.
So, the feed from society is overwhelmingly too much as evidenced by sickness, mental illness and more. Funny how simple the solution is to get out of a rut. But, ruts can be comforting, they are familiar. Familiarity can seem safe but can be painful as well. So here’s the trick: You can use the body to change the mind. And visa versa.
Change some routines to suit the growth you want - not always comfortable.
When you are aggravated, go move the body. Give it the outlet it needs.
We are becoming so accustomed to resisting and fearing that we treat uncertainty like a disease. Not knowing isn’t a threat, it’s an adventure, an opportunity. Expecting disappointment is not a shield against hard times, it’s giving yourself hard times even before they hit. Is entertaining worry being realistic or just being afraid?
So lean into your life, do not deny the storms but know that you are an effect of the whole ball of wax. The unseen energy appears as space, time, and nature itself, as your body. Feel that deep pulse, around and within you, backed up by an intelligence, a knowingness, beyond our human capacity to understand, whilst knowing it supports all. And could something that supports all…
Be love itself.
