YIN Yoga

Yin Yoga is a quiet meditative experience to complement the more active yoga practice. Poses are done seated or lying down with the support of props for comfort and are held for an average of 3 to 5 minutes. Yin poses use time, gravity, and body weight to stretch the fascia, lengthen connective tissue, nourish the joints, as well as to strengthen energy channels which ultimately support the organs, immune system, and emotional well being. The slow pace of Yin Yoga encourages the body to relax deeply, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and releasing tension & emotional blocks held in the tissue to allow for more profound change. Poses may be modified to meet the individual needs of the students.
