John has always been very physical in an eclectic way. Starting as a competitive swimmer in his youth led to an array of water sports such as sail boarding, sailing, canoeing, jet skiing and body surfing. Running, cycling, hiking and climbing and motorcycling led to some serious injuries that he believes are manageable with the practice of yoga and proper nutrition to this day.
His yoga journey started in 2002 with the non physical practice of meditation bringing a more continuous peace, clarity and health to life he had seldomly experienced in the outward facing rat race of modern culture. Always an avid learner he began taking different classes such as Chi gong, yoga and taking instruction from trainers in various gyms. In 2015 after various diagnoses from doctors he luckily found a master Hatha yoga teacher, Douglas Andrews, in Scotts Valley California who trained him in classical hatha yoga and breath work as well as yoga philosophy. John has since continued his practice by obtaining a 200hr RYT certification in accordance with Yoga Alliance standards. Ever curious, he continues to study and test on himself, the latest mind/body sciences and movement practices. Upon awakening every day, he does his personal routine, ever learning, to understand the limitations and capabilities of his own body.
John has found that yoga is more than what is commonly known as a workout routine here in the United States. It is a way of knowing yourself internally both physically and mentally and making those aspects of oneself pleasant, strong, and even downright fun! Through learning yoga and practicing and teaching meditation John has avoided many suggested surgical procedures and medications and fully embraces the inevitable changes that come with aging. He knows yoga can be friendly to all ages and stages of life. Yoga means union with the original, and the origin of any body is life itself. And life moves, life flows. Yoga clears the muddy channels of stagnation and toxicity, giving one freedom to move and do what you want without pain.
With over 20 years of practice and teaching experience, Jamie Reich brings a deep love and respect for yoga’s transformative power into every class she leads. Certified through the Yoga Center of Excellence in Jackson, TN (200 RYT), Jamie teaches a variety of styles including Vinyasa, Gentle Stretch, and Yin, with a special passion for Vinyasa flow and the discipline of Ashtanga in her personal practice.
Her teaching is grounded in the philosophy of tuning into the body rather than the ego; encouraging students to explore their edge with mindfulness, not competition. Jamie believes yoga is a powerful path to healing, and it brings her great joy to witness growth and self-discovery in her students.
Whether you're stepping into a private session or a group class, expect a challenging yet supportive space with options for all levels.
Having taught at multiple studios and even owned a successful studio of her own, Jamie continues to deepen her understanding by taking classes regularly and maintaining a personal, evolving practice. Her goal is to create a space where every student feels empowered to move authentically and safely.
Maureen began her yoga journey in 2007, following several years of practicing mat Pilates, which incorporated yoga asana principles. After over 3 decades of running and taking aerobics classes, and eventually sustaining injuries from these high impact activities, she knew that she had to slow it down physically and commit to a gentler fitness practice. Maureen discovered the powerful healing benefits of yoga when she began taking classes at Kula Yoga Shala in Jupiter FL. She knew then that her commitment to yoga would be lifelong.
Maureen has been on an “off the mat” yoga journey for her entire adult life, attending classes, workshops, and Sat Sangs with a variety of spiritual teachers, including Mary Pompeo, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and Abraham Hicks. She has experienced an eclectic path of study which eventually included the roots and traditions of yoga philosophy in Yoga Teacher Training. Her classes reflect these diverse teachings and how to apply them to our daily lives to maintain peace and balance.
Maureen received her 200 hour CYT certification in 2018 after completion of Mindful Vinyasa Teacher Training under Laura Wenger at YogaFish Studio in Stuart FL. She later supplemented her teacher training with a Mindfulness Yin Yoga certification under Rishi Eric Infanti from Mela Academy.
During her teacher training, she personally committed to Patanjali's Eightfold Path of Yoga, as her spiritual journey continued. Maureen believes a yoga class should be a Mind Body Breath experience, integrating three of the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga – Dhyana~meditation, Asana~the physical poses , and Pranayama~breath work. She understands that connecting breath to movement improves focus and balance, and helps to quiet the mind. As a Registered nurse for over 36 years Maureen incorporated meditation and breath-work into her holistic, trauma informed care, to facilitate healing with women and special needs children and adolescents.
Maureen sees the opportunity to teach yoga as a continuation of her ongoing spiritual journey for both personal growth and service to others.
Suzy discovered yoga in 1996 as a pediatric resident at Children’s National Medical Center. In this demanding environment, she found that yoga kept her calm, healthy and grounded despite her hectic lifestyle. She has continued to practice since that time, exploring different disciplines and the philosophy of yoga.
A practitioner of Iyengar yoga for thirteen years, Suzy developed a keen appreciation for alignment. Her discovery of Vinyasa yoga provided the perfect blend of vigorous flow, alignment principles, and the power of transformation. Suzy has completed 200 hour and 300 hour RYT Vinyasa teacher trainings with her mentor and friend, Rolf Gates. She also enjoys Ashtanga, Yin and meditation practices.
Becoming a teacher has allowed Suzy to share her passion and knowledge with her students, and she is excited to bring her knowledge and skill sets from medicine and yoga together in order to encourage students towards healthy, empowered, injury-free living.
When she’s not practicing or teaching, you can find Suzy spending time on the local beaches and enjoying nature. She enjoys surfing, reading and travel.
